Other Info: Trail building at the Itusi Trail at Lake Norman State Park Statesville, NC - Mark your calendars and join First Flight Bicycles and REI on Saturday, June 2, 8:30 AM - 12 PM for American Hiking Society's National Trails Day. Volunteers will meet at the Trail Kiosk and Information at the Itusi Trail Trailhead. Volunteers will split off into teams to spruce up the existing trails with each team being led by a Tarheel Trailblazer. We will have a family friendly team for those with children 13 and younger that will include a nature hike!   • Being the voice of Advocacy for Mountain Bikers.
  • Continuously looking for new locations to develop trail systems in and around Metro-Charlotte.
  • Providing a source of information on rides and other activities related to Mountain Biking.

The Catawba Riverfront Classic, held on Sunday, May 20, is annual mountain bike race held as a fundraising event for the Tarheel Trailblazers. The race is held at the US National Whitewater Center on some of the sweetest singletrack in the Piedmont of North Carolina. This race event is part of the Southern Classic Mountain Bike Series and will offer categories for people of all racing abilities.

Not racing but want to play a role at the Riverfront, we are in need of volunteer support for the event. Email Emily at catsruletn@hotmail.com Volunteering at events is a great way of meeting many people in club and mountain bike community.
