Year End Party w/Dirt Divas

It's almost that time, the invites to current THTB members will be going out soon. We've been asked to line up firewood for a bonfire out in the fire ring at the Trials Barn, and I figure the best bet is to just ask those that are going to attend let us know if they have any spare firewood they can bring along. We may not use all that is brought, but better too much than not enough. Think smores!! How can you deprive the Dirt Divas of their smores.....

Where in the world are we going to get firewood? It's not like we have any forests around here!

I do know of this big tree that's been cut into 100 pound logs, but I have no idea if it's suitable for firewood. Anyone know?

For those who have never gone to this Ride/Party.... GO!!!  It's a hoot to ride and hang out with fellow riders and families. (Great food and brew too)

Who do we RSVP to for the year end gig at Springs?  Also, how much for Trailblazers and who do we give the money to?

I'm looking forward to it!

we had the opportunity this summer to introduce smores to a British man. He wasn't very impressed.  Undecided

I don't currently have any firewood but I am willing to buy a little to bring. I also have a bunch of branches and bits of wood that have been collecting in my backyard that I can bring.

I think I can come up with some.... let me check on it.

BTW if anyone has some but can't make it to the party.... drop it off at Ultimate bikes ( we can store it out back for a short time) and I can haul it there on the trailer.

Hey all, please remember to RSVP to the evite that was sent out to club members. They need to know a headcount so they order enough food. I think they were hoping to know by today, but try as soon as you can. Thanks,

I will bring some. I checked it and it's in better condition than I thought. Others should bring some if they have it also, just in case.

I know the party is done and I couldn't make it again this year. But how about some planning for the firewood for next year? Each time I ride at SB and pass where the huge trees went down, I look at all that wood and think of its potential of doing something else besides feeding bugs and turning into dirt.
Would parks and recs have any objection to us "cleaning the woods a bit and gathering up some of that stuff along our trails? It is a known fact that excessive debris on the forest floor is one of the problems fueling intense forest fires. It also inhibits new growth. Potential for some good wood for a bonfire in the future? Not to mention material for TTF's. Just a thought.  Wink And no, though I heat my house with wood I plan on installing a multi-fuel pellet burning stove  next year. And so I am trying to use up my wood supply. If I had been here I would have donated some of what I have.
