Man is Highland's Black Mocha Stout great. I've been toying with stouts for a couple of weeks (my fall style choice) and always go back to Murphy's. This one has a great flavor, smooth finish and perfect carbonation. Can't believe I haven't tried their stout before.

While we're sharing, I'm loving this Bell's Expedition stout.

Only one and everyone will look funny though.

Do yourself a flavor and put one or two of those away til next year. Or even better, for two years.

Had an 08 and an 09 this year and they were excellent to say the least.

If one makes everything look funny, you can imagine what two will do... Shocked Cheesy

I love the Old Chub, Dale's, and Gordon's...The 10.5 % scares me though. Wiffington (my wife) told me NOOOO at Total Wine this last week.

I am going to Starr Hill Brewery this weekend (DMB) if any Blazers have any special requests. Wink Doing some riding in the VA historical wilderness also.

Ditto on the OMB pickup today, except I broke from my beloved Copper for the Mecklenburger....i was disappointed I couldn't get the seasonal bock in the growler. It's not usually my gig since I'm a hop head, triple, or stout kind of guy, but the small sample I had tonight was really, really good. Slightly sweet and malty, but very subtle in a way that a hop head can like....i.e., I don't like very malty brews, but will take freebies as some of my good friends thrive on them...

I picked up a 6 pack of Hibernation Ale (Great Divide Brewing Co.) last night from Total Wine.  Pretty good stuff.  I'm sure many of you have tried it.  If not, check it out.

Also, Allagash Black is a Belgian style stout that is incredible.

I was a huge Guinness fan and still enjoy it.  There are just a lot of IPA's and strong Ales like just as much now.  This is the best stout I have had in a while though.

Have not tried the Hibernation YET but will pick some up... if you like IPA and stouts give the Founders Imperial Stout a go when you can get some it is outstanding  Smiley

Anyone into mixing? I get bored sometimes, so I try weird stuff. Today after yard work I tried mixing a Dogfishhead Saison du Buff (excellent on it's own) and OMB Mecklenburger (also excellent on it's own). Quite nice IMHO.

Later this weekend I'll be mixing a Rogue Double Chocolate Stout with Founders Cerise...again both excellent on their own for my tastes....Although I guess I should stop clarifying that, since I don't mix anything I don't like on it's own.

If you're going to imbibe in moderation, might as well be the good stuff.

I like that mixing the brews think. You on to something.

What y'all have lined up for TG?

I'm still waiting for The Grapewine to tap their last Thirsty Dog Pumpking. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to fill up the growler.
