Closest ingles I know of is up 321 just out of Gastonia.  Maybe same exit as gaston community college.

I'd call the beer stores around town first though, just in case.  Total Wine, Brawley's, etc.

They had it at Total Wine on Park two weeks ago.  They had it behind the counter, so you may have to ask for it.  Last year they had a good stock at Earthfare, so you may want to check there also.

Cold Mountain is definitely more bitter this year.  Anchor Steam Christmas '10 tastes more like Cold Mountain has the past 2-3 years (I thought the Anchor was terrible for '09).

Anyone seen the Highland Cold Mountain seasonal yet?  I haven't been able to find it and it seems like last year this time I saw it in a couple spots.

I saw it at Wine Maestro in Statesville today, they also had 12 packs(pricey)

I've been there. Great selection that grows daily, just got his liquor license so he'll be able to pour on site, and is planning a small menu. Things looking up for him.

I stopped by there today and they had a good selection of bottles on hand (warm).  Prices ranged from $2 - $7.50 per bottle for the beers I noticed.  No prepackaged 6 packs for less.  As mentioned he is gearing up to be full service and was happy to hear the word was getting out.

My selection....  The fruity ales were Melissa's choice

Used to be my lunchbreak twice a week. Pretty good selection, especially for the area. Watch out for the IPA's though. Some have been sitting for a while. Check the date. He's a nice guy though. I try to frequent there often, support local businesses and all. He usually has some pretty hard to find stuff.

Has anyone seen a product called Hop Up. It's a tea bag with hops in it. So you can Hop up a weak beer, or you can Hop Up a Hoppy beer and make it extreamly hoppy. I got some for Christmas, pretty cool Cool

Wow. I grew up right down the road from the Semonski sisters. They had 6 girls and we had six boys roughly the same ages. Michelle was the youngest and went to high school with me after they were done with the show. Never thought I'd see that on a bike forum!

Wow, what a coincidence.

I wish I had grown up near the Semonski sisters. Smiley

Here's another LW clip that's always good for a laugh.

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

The story was, Lawrence Welk liked the song and thought it was pop Gospel music. And didn't know what the word 'toke' meant and nobody on the show was willing to tell him.

What's ironic is it appeared on the LW show a week or two after Richard Nixon called the original song writers/performers Brewer and Shipley 'public miscreants', after hearing the song. Grin

For you younger types, here's the original 1971 recording.

I haven't, but I have pounds of hops in the freezer and have been thinking about making one of these..

Neither the tea bags or the randall below would add anything in the way of bitterness, but would potentially help with aroma and a bit of flavor.

Tried Atwater Block Vanilla Java Porter while in Buffalo NY w/ with yankee wife over the holidays. Pretty good but a little bitter. Tried some  Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter and it was sublime. Hoppy New Year to all.

Says on website that Hopslam is being released on January 14. Also Larry Bell is going to be in Asheville on January 19. 5-7pm at Bruisin Ale, then 7-????pm at the thirsty monk. Too bad it's the middle of the week, or I would be there(Thirsty Monk) Wink
