Wolaver's Pumpkin is a good one. They must have changed the recipe from the last one reviewed on beer advocate. They had complaints about being too spicy. I'm not a fan of most pumpkins because they are too spicy but this is an excellent one. Tastes more like pumpkin than nutmeg and cinnamon. Very good.

How'd we get the gold star next to the thread? Does this mean we like beer more than bikes? Hey, we did end up beating the carbon fiber thread Smiley

High country beerfest in boone tmrw.  Lots of beers to check out.  Anybody else heading up?  Thinking of taking the bike to check out rocky knob or beech mtn.

LKNM Beerfest, September 17th.  And there's a new Brewery in Cornelius.  Founded in '09.  Haven't tried any yet but I think the owner is a customer....Here's the link.

Just saw this at Southern Spirits.

Anyone come across any of the Harpoon UFO Raspberry Hefeweizen?  I Haven't seen it yet this summer and it seems to have become less available over the last couple years.  I use to be able to get it at Harris Teeter and Total Wine (South Park or Independence), but I haven't seen it at those stores in a couple years.  Frugal MacDoogal had it last year but nothing yet this year.  If anyone has seen it around please let me know!

Interesting! Haven't had Wolaver yet. I do enjoy the pumpkins that follow the pumpkin pie recipe, a little spicy is great. The Weyerbachers and Southern Tiers are at the top of my list, followed by New Hollands Ichabod. I avoid the Shipyard altogether, has a detergent taste to it.

Wolaver makes a really nice Stout, too!

(with regards to Pumpkin Ales)
I've only tried the dogfish punkin and  harvest moon, both were tasty.

Went to check on the PumpKing, alas it's the only one not in yet. Total Wine has about 10 different pumpkin ales in stock, including the Dogfish Head.

Delicious!

Kona Pipeline Porter is now in stock at Total Wine.

This is one of my favorite coffee porters. It has a nice coffee flavor without being to bitter or acrid  Cheesy

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

I also picked up a bottle of Stone Green Tea IPA, which was actually pretty good.

Still no sign of Pumpking Sad
