Where did you pick up the OMB growler?  I hadn't seen them until yesterday at the String Bean in Belmont.   Which beer and how did you like it?

That's exactly where I got it. I picked it up last Friday, just got around to popping the top this Thur. Got the Copper. This is a lagered ale and while quite refreshing, I prefer more hoppy brews.

Ryan Self of OMB was part of the SB beer tasting this past Tues. Lots of people left with growlers that night. Chad (SB) said he will probably carry them ongoing as well.

BTW: The Stringbean will be doing monthly beer tastings, the next one will feature Brooklyn Brews.

So that's a growler huh. I figgured they were more of a pitcher/milk jug. Does the beer stay fresh ti'll you open or do you need to drink up fairly soon? How many oz?

FYI, just picked up a 24 bottle case of the Sam Adams Winter Sampler at Costco for $23. Got six different beers in it. Smiley

(Also FYI... this will probably now be the last legible post that I make today...Thanks Costco!!!)

74 oz. $10 (plus $10 deposit for bottle). It's sealed and definitely POPS once you open it. It is resealable (Grolsh style).

you never forget, I had the Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier on tap at Ducksworths (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) across from Park Road Shopping Center Sat. Good refreshing beer and good food there. Ask for Beth, her service was fantastic. Pizza rocked!

Also enjoyed the Highland Tasgall on tap, a Scotch Ale. When we got there it looked like they were having a beer party, had a Highland cask out on the bar with a $20 buy in. Great selection of beers on tap and bottles. Even had the Founders Breakfast Stout on tap. I really enjoyed the Highland Big Butte Porter on tap too.

Been looking for Old Chub for 3 years for post ride refreshment. I'm in Buffalo with my wife on vacation and just picked up a couple 6ers. One for tonight and one for next weekend's ride. What a great beer...but dangerous though. 8 % and not the same warning bite that Dale's carries being an IPA.

Saw an OMB truck in front of the Teeter on the corner of 51 and 74, does that mean they are selling it there?  I'd like to give it a try.

We carry and pour fine local brews too! Big Boss from Raleigh, Highland from Asheville, and Charlotte's very own Olde Mecklenburg.

Nothing says "thanks for taking me to the E.R. when I fell off that skinny" like a six-pack of a delicious seasonal!

Joey, Thanks for posting up those pics. Great selection. I heard a lot of good things about the common Market. Making my way there as soon as I need to replenish. Keep us posted on any upcoming beer tasting events.
