Counted about 17 cases of Hop Slam at the Total Wine off Providence Rd.  Limit of 1 six pack per customer.  It was off in the corner by the marked down beer, didn't see it until I was getting ready to check out.

Just picked up a sixer.  Thanks for letting us know.

I heard about this, the QCBF, and by the time I looked up the site they were sold out.  Bummer.   Cry

On a somewhat related note, just around the corner from the Nieghborhood theatre is a hidden little gem of a bar galled Jack Beagles.  They have been open for about a year now but have yet to have a grand opening or market themselves... yet, they have a pretty good beer selection in there... and to make things interesting they have a mystery beer for $1 a bottle.  It's beer that's getting close to being out of date from the stock next door and Salvador Deli.  We had some decent brews for a buck a piece... and of course one crappy one.  It's a gamble of a mystery.

Oh and they have some really good food in there too.  Blue Bayou Burger=phenomenal.

Enjoy the QCBF for us as we wish we were there.

My son Tucker is one of the bartenders/ managers at Jack Beagles. Thanks for the nice write-up, Solar!  Smiley

I'm really enjoying sierra nevada ruthless rye.  It tastes like the barley smells that I pull out of some of my home brews, if that makes any sense.  Very strong, not too malty, not too bitter, just right.  I'm drinking their 'torpedo' right now, not really into it as much.

You should give Bear Republic's Hop Rod Rye a try. It's very similar to Ruthless with a little more body. Delicious beer.

Hello fellow beer drinkers,

I have a fridge that I'm about looking to sell.  I thought I'd post here and then on the market place if I didn't hear from anyone.  (Sorry Mods if this is trouble).

In short, I figured this would appeal to the beer folks so thought I'd put it on this thread. If it needs to be pulled or moved, let me know.

I have a Avantti Fridge, its about 30" tall, 24" deep by 21" wide.  Its smaller than a normal fridge but a lot bigger than typical dorm fridges.  I used it to hold beer near my bar but I believe in the right hands it could be turned into a kegerator.  I'm selling it because this was fridge #4 in the house and there's just no reason to have four refrigerators.

It works great, the freezer is not frost free so it does need to be thawed out every couple years, but otherwise this keeps beer perfectly cold.

Asking $50.

Davidson Beverage Company....go check it out...now the folks on the North side have a place to actually drink a high end bevy while you shop for something to take home. Located in some of the newer shops very near Fuel Pizza, almost across the street from that Wooden Stone place. Usually 6 taps of quality stuff, and a few big fridges with singles of a large amount of the selection in the store. You can also grab one of the cold ones in the fridge and get it in a pint glass. Nice little bar area, also a couch and a few chairs, and a very cool weiner dog. Also sells wine so my wife can sip on something while I get deer in the headlights trying to decide what to purchase.

Prices seem very comparable to other places. Some of my staples like Leffe Blonde and Belles Two Hearted were the same or a tad cheaper than the Teeter, but mostly more of the unusual stuff you don't see unless you're in Brawley's, Common Market, Total Wine, etc....

I took home an Orange Blossom Pilsner Squared yesterday for the grilling, and thought it was much better than some of the rating on places like ratebeer.com. A tad sweet for my usual taste, but really not that sweet considering it's 11% abv, with a hint of orangey bittery finish. I'd buy it again.

Also had a Green Flash Saison (luvs me some Saison) on tap that was worth every bit of $5 for a 16oz pour. All the other drafts were in the 3.75-4.00 range.
