I have a beer question-

I have a "friend" that for reasons shall go unsaid, needs to stay away from the alcohol part of beer for awhile.  This "friend" LOVES stouts and porters.

Can anyone tell me if there are any non-alcoholic stouts or porters out there and preferably something available locally? This "Friend" would greatly appreciate the gesture if I could get my hands on a few brews for him/her.

And believe it or not, I am not my "friend".

Thanks in advance.

I have not heard of any non-alcoholic porters or stouts but maybe a google search could turn up some results.  Good luck!

Thanks any ways,

I know Brawlys or Mike's whichever one is in the original building has some darker NA beers but I was hoping to surprise them with a stout.  No worries... regardless I'll be sipping my bourbon!

I mean beer,...sorry I forgot this was a beer blog.  I shouldn't mention my bourbon habit here.

Your beer:

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

15% ABV, aged in bourbon barrels, and delicious.

Gotta give a shout out to a new business.  Mooresville now has a bottle shop and tasting room.  Check out Ultimate Ales (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links).
The owner is super friendly and is adding more stock as fast as he can.  Nice rotating taps (Olde Hickory Redeemer imperial IPA was on at my last visit) and a cool refrigerated section that you drink in store or take home.

Sweet!  That could be interesting. Does anyone carry that locally?

I acquired some Westy 12 a few months back when they released it.  Drank one, sitting on the rest. It's very good, but maybe only marginally better than a lot of other BSDAs that are regularly available.

Solar, BCS is released once a year and you're lucky if you can find some.  There are a lot of other bourbon aged stouts out there though.

Gonna try this one tonight. A local taphouse is serving all the kegs they have been hoarding for a 2nd anniversary party. Check it out on facebook. look up The Mayor of Old Town. They have the best beer list i've ever seen on right now.

It's very rude of you to tell of a pub we can't go to.

I'm out of frequent flyer points and Neal has my calendar full of races.

I read the Beer Advocate review on the Pliny the Elder and I'm going to have to work a California connection so I can try it.

The only thing I hate is that I can't try the Pliny tonight after Sherman.
