Linus,
No sweat!

In fact, I've been asked to see how many Trailblazers would be interested in a club tasting held at our store. It would be free of charge, and you all could supply me with a wish-list of beers that you'd like to have on draft. Our beer-guru loves the challenge of trying to get his hands on great seasonals and rare craft brews.

Holy hippies batman I love the common market! In fact I'll be by tonight. I notice a good gathering of roadies on some nights. you guys should try a cycling team instead of that rugby idea that i heard didn't pan out so well. how come you guys only have the franziskaner dunkel these days? It's not as good IMO. I would definitely be interested in coming out for a tasting.

It saddens me that "bike" means motorcycle to adults.

CriticalMass, I found the Chouffee Houblon (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) in NJ. Don't know how long I can hang onto the bottle I got for you... Wink

Oh, come on.  Put it in the crawl space under the house (or the fridge in the back behind that take out from two weeks ago) and forget about it until I can get back.   OR, drink it and let me know how delicious it was.

Joey, I think the beer tasting for the Trailblazers is a great idea. Post it up as a separate posting here. Talk about challenging, I would love to try the Maui Coconut Porter (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) , can't seem to get that one anywhere but CA and Hawaii. Also Piraat ale (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) is another one of my favs. What about Chimay (red, blue & white) (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) , any takers?

Joey is my newest bestest buddy next to the Sam Adams Sales dude, MountainCycle  (only if he gets the job)

You know, we stock Chouffe Houblon Dobbelen IPA Tripel on a regular basis.
We also have bottles of La Chouffe Golden Ale, Gulden Draak, Piraat, and sometimes Red, blue, and white Chimay.

Recent seasonal additions include:
Gulden Draak Vintage Ale,
Bell's Special Double Cream Stout,
Bad Elf Winter's Ale,
Criminally Bad Elf,
and Van Twee Belgian Ale.
Also these guys...

Linus, I owe you one since you helped me out at SB on that Sunday ride where I flatted on the lake loop. I'll talk to my Beer Czar tomorrow and see if he can track down that Maui Coconut Porter... maybe as a nice, tropical feature during the middle of winter.

Everyone, keep the recommendations coming.

I see that the meetup Beer group will be heading that way next Weds too.

Joey, Doug and I were at the Market yesterday for the beer tasting. Meet Thomas, awesome guy, he knew us as Joey's Biking Buddies. Fantastic selection of beer dude.

Anyone try this place out:

Any other similar places in and around charlotte?

Found this hilarious vid on the one cent beer, very funny!:

Gotta give props to Trader Joes for their 2009 Vintage Ale. Comes in a full pint for UNDER $5. Dark and very full flavored, but super smooth and sweet. The fact that it comes in at 9% doesn't hurt either. If you haven't tried it I highly recommend. Smiley

Yes the TJ ale was pretty good.

Interesting article on PBR... seems the IRS has an issue with its owner and now everyone has a chance to own them some PBR (Company and BEER)

Topper - When I was of age - probably a loooonger time ago - a case of Iron City quarts (12) for $3.79, net of return bottle deposit.

Maybe not quite as smooth as PBR, but by the third one, everything was A-OK! Cheesy

Per your earlier pm SSMB, perhaps you could offer it as a door prize so we could entice a few more attendees to that meeting?

By the way, sorry I didn't get back sooner!
