Gotta give a shout out to a new business.  Mooresville now has a bottle shop and tasting room.  Check out Ultimate Ales (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links).
The owner is super friendly and is adding more stock as fast as he can.  Nice rotating taps (Olde Hickory Redeemer imperial IPA was on at my last visit) and a cool refrigerated section that you drink in store or take home.
That is a cool shop. Was happy to find Dale's Stovepipes somewhere local Smiley He need to even out his prices a bit though. High for even Lakeville. Beer on tap is cool. Always a plus to have the best NC draft, Deviant Dale'S

But can you get Dogfish Raison D'Extra?  I've only seen it in person once.

I stopped by Davidson Beverage Company yesterday and had the best beer I ever tasted.

Habanero Sculpin IPA by Ballast Point .  It was out of this world good.  They have the only keg of it in the North Carolina, since it is a very limited release.  I would kill to get a hold of a growler of it.

Went to see Yonder Mountain String Band at the Pisgah Brewery on Sunday. They have a great outdoor venue. With plenty of brews at good prices for a live show. I really dug the West Coast IPA. Next up is the Dark Star Orchestra on Aug 16. Got to get my summer Dead on Wink

Was in Raleigh over the weekend and stopped in at a friends new brewery, Crank Arm.  The beer is fantastic, as is the atmosphere for bike/beer nuts like us.  Cycling specific art and sculptures everywhere and the taproom doubles as the headquarters for Crank Arm Rickshaw, the sister company.  No word on distribution to our area (they just opened) but if you are in Raleigh I HIGHLY recommend stopping in for a Rickshaw Rye.

lack of riding and many beers has made me fat and out of shape. Was thinking of Michelob Ultra for the in between visits to the brewery/beer store. Any suggestions? Huh

Happy IPA day Smiley

What's your favorite IPA?

Stone "Enjoy by" is quickly turning into mine.

Noda's Hop Drop N Roll is a close second.

Just got back from a new place in downtown Huntersville across from Lupie's, right beside the fire dept called Crafty Beer Guys. Unique place that sells home brew supplies, gives home brew lessons (I may take an upcoming one as I move to all grain..maybe), puts in professional grade commercial and residential tap systems, decent bottle shop, and 12-15 quality brews on tap.

It's an old house converted, and although not as unique stuff as DBC in Davidson, I had my choice of two Triple C's and three NoDa's on tap, which is plenty good enough for me only being about five miles from my house.

Walked in and saw Triple C Baby Maker and Greenway IPA on tap, and Coco Loco from NoDa among the 12ish taps. I think Triple C and NoDa can stand against just about any brewery for my tastes, and these guys may finally get me to go to all grain home brewing.

Last but not least, they have a pretty nice wine selection for my wife who hates beer...Happy Wife = Happy Life Cool
