Blue Moon doesn't have any pumpkin in it. So it's not really a pumpkin ale. Maybe a Oktoberfest

this is the ale i was refering to:     (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Sam Adams octoberfest is a decent beer this year (ducks), it's got a consistent flavor, which has always been a problem with many of SA's beers.  That being said, as soon as Noda gets some beers into the local stores in rock thrill I'll be all over them.

Octoberfest is a safety beer for me, but nothing spectacular.  I far prefer their Harvest Pumpkin.

And you can grab NoDa cans at the brewery already - 16oz 4-packs.  Jam Session is $9 and Hop Drop & Roll is $11.  I imagine they'll be in Total Wine and other local stores soon enough.  I also think I read on their facebook that Coco Loco will be the next cans, hopefully by the end of the year.

Total Wine in Huntersville is phasing out Sierra Nevada Hotimum. Great price at $3.99 for a four pack. Not bad for a decent 10.4% IPA. I bought all I could find, but other Total Wine's may have the same deal going.

Funny you mention this.  I bought some a while back and didn't notice the alcohol content -- until I drank a couple.  Whoo.  I thought I was such a lightweight.  Tastes decent, too.

Had a few New Belgium Pumpkicks this Saturday at the Mellow Mushroom in Boone. Quite tasty this time of year ! And speaking of New Belgium, always have to give a shout out to Tyler @ NB for supporting our sport !

I find Total Wine often carries all the above including the limited/special/seasonal beers by these (and many other) breweries. If they don't have it. Ask as they can often get it.

Has anyone seen the Oskar Blues Canundrum 12 pak anywhere in the area. With a lot of events coming up, this seems like a good  choise to BYOB Smiley

I'm trying to get my hands on some Victory DirtWolf double IPA. I hear its similar to Heady trooper in taste and complexion. Has anyone seen this brew on the shelves in the CLT area?

DBC in Davidson had DirtWolf on draft and I think I saw it on the shelf too. Might want to call.

I too will be heading to Austin on Wednesday and was wondering the same thing! I'm looking to try some local brews and the best brewery's/bars to tackle this task.

The Ginger Man is a good option as is the Dog and Duck.  Both have been around for many years.
