Anyone like Delirium Tremins (DT)
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) , the gastropub, The Liberty
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) has this on tap. Delicious Belgium Strong Dark Ale. Speaking with the co-owner while out there I requested Chouffle
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) , my other favorite Belgium Strong Dark Ale. Matthew will be getting this beer this Friday (01.22) on tap for those that are interested.
I'm probably heading that way this Friday for a tasting as I know this will not last long.
On another note, one of the beers I have being trying to get for the longest time is the Maui Coconut Porter which is currently only availalbe in Ca and Maui. While researching the micro breweries in and around Hickory (my next trip) I came across The Catawba Valley Brewing Company
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) who brews a similar beer called the Kink Coconut Porter
Quote:King Coconut Porter
This unusual American Porter has become a Spring seasonal
mainstay for Catawba Valley Brewing Company. Hand crafted
using the finest malts & hops then infused with actual oven
roasted coconut. Combined with the rich chocolaty Porter,
coconut, and caramelized barley, King Coconut Porter has
become lovingly known as the candy bar in a keg.
Anyone try this or know where I can get my hands on some? I sent out an email to the owner too. Looks like a Spring beer.
Viper - Thanks for the recommendation on Weyerbacher - Blithering Idiot. I'll try to find this at Southern Spirits.
PDLJUNKIE - Schlafly Saison Ale, Will try that one soon, unfiltered and Belgium in one sentence, must be tasty.
Daniel - Any tasting of the home brew? The thought of home brew did cross my mind, maybe I need to hook up with you lot the next time to observe.
