Trail Dynamics Selected For Woodrun Trail

SORBA has selected the bid of Trail Dynamics to complete the Phase I work at the Woodrun Trails at Uwharrie National Forest. This will include approximately 4 miles of new singletrack, 1/2 a mile of trail closure, 2,300 square feet of rock armoring, at least 4 insloped switchback turns and 49 rolling grade dips. Work is exppected to begin August 1 and be complete by the end of September. The trail crew will be lead by Ed Sutton, who has over 15 years of trail building experience and who our own Water bOb Karriker says is a genius with a Sweco trail dozer.

Many of you know (of) Trail Dynamics.  Woody Keen has helped us on two projects locally, providing resources and work at both the Southwest District Park Community Trail and at Lake Norman State Park. We really look forward to working with Ed on this new project and lending what support we can.

Some temporary trail closure may be possible once TD gets started on the project, but most of the work will be on new sections that shouldn't disturb current trail use. We'll keep you advised as the work starts and progresses.

I have worker with Ed up in Dupont on a couple of trails. Very nice guy and a great trail builder. Great chainsaw skills. Hates pine trees.
