Many thanks to Dan Burns who has scrambled to provide us a (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) of the Uwharrie trail system, just in time for Saturday's Grand Opening.

The map has also been added to the  (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) trail page.

Enjoy!

When I was a kid, I prayed for a bicycle.  When I learned it didn't work that way, I stole one and asked God to forgive me...

Supertree and whitetail are definitely better clockwise......unless you like to climb.

Keyauwee used to be better going counter clockwise.....but now it seems to be fun both ways but the mile long downhill run going clockwise probably makes clockwise a tad funner.

But I also think the best thing to do is just ride everything both directions so you get all the joy and pain outta the place. Smiley

thanks Kevin.

last time we were out there we went halfway down fireroad to the new section on right, took that in about 1/2 mile to campsite and then fireroad to back connector.  took left to keyauwee back to campsite, then back up fireroad to supertree (figure 8 stylee).

i've started supertree from the campsite (counter clockwise), but that wasn't much fun. it had better flow coming back (clockwise).

looks like the "new section" starts up at the parking lot now, and eliminates the fireroad in.  good work Smiley

Maybe it's just me but there is something wrong with that map. The new section does not start in the parking lot it's about a half a mile down the road, but the map would have you think otherwise. The other issue seems to be the red dashed line, Wood Run Road, is out of place. Where it dissects Supertree and Keyauwee trails it should over lay the blue line. This makes it look as if there is another section of single track thats not actually there. Actually the blue line in the middle should not be there, and I'm not talking about White Tail. It could be I need new glasses.

It looks a little askew to me. It gives the right general idea. It might just need to be tweeked a little

Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

My GPS of Uwharrie below using sportypal.  The map is accurate; the time is accurate as we did one lap one way and then reversed it using the Whitetail shortcut stopping the yakk a little along the way.  But the distance and speed is never right as the GPS evidently can't keep up when the trail isn't fairly straight or something.  I did Owl's Roost the other day and the GPS gets the map right but says the trail is 3.2 miles when the bike computer and trail maps agree on 4.3 miles.
