Help Wanted - Riverfront Classic Fundraiser Race

We need:

A volunteer coordinator: this person will be in charge of recruiting club volunteers, making sure those volunteers are at the event and in their designated locations for the given time.   We have all times and locations for event volunteers. Neal Boyd who will manage putting on the event will work directly with the coordinator to make sure our volunteer needs are met.  

Sponsorship product coordinator:  this person would be in charge of reaching out to local sponsors for product sponsorship.  We would  REALLY like to look outside the bike industry for product sponsorships.  You can only give away so many pumps and tires.  Be creative and help us with new sponsorships.  It could be anything from gift certificates from Lowe's Hardware to a new TV to food to anything fun.   This needs to start NOW.  Neal is planning to have the brochure printed in early March. We can provide samples of "sponsorship ask" letters from prior events. 

Trail marking coordinator:  this person will be in charge of the race course.  This person needs to know the trails at USNWC VERY WELL.  We will transition the running race on Saturday morning to the race course for the Riverfront Classic. Vasco will not be available this year so this is VERY important role at the event.  

This event could be an even bigger fundraiser for the club if we chased monetary sponsorships for the event.  If anyone in the club wanted to chase monetary sponsorships, its just money in the bank as we cover all cost with the event entry fees. 

We need to get these three positions filled ASAP so we can start planning for 2012.   

Please help us folks. The money we raise goes right back into maintaining the trails you're riding this week.

I may be able to change the course from Saturdays Outward Bound running race to the Sunday Riverfront Classic. Wes graduates from Wofford on that Sunday and I just don't know what I will be into on the Saturday if any thing at all. I could always use a helper on Saturday so they know what to do on race day. So don't count me out yet. I will know in due time.

Many thanks Emily. I really appreciate all that you and Craig do for your club. Everytime someone steps up to help it makes my role a little bit easier. I'll be at the race most of the day myself to help out.
