Good ride with good people as usual. Thanks to everyone for coming out and riding with us.

BIG thanks to Ultimate Bicycle in Matthews, NC for sponsoring these rides. It really means alot to have a local shop that is invested in the bike community. They even come out and ride which is awesome. They are a great shop and do really awesome work. Please check them out. (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Hey folks,

I want to go ahead and post up for tomorrow night. The weather is looking iffy at best. There's going to be rain but how much is anyone's guess. Either way, I've been battling a pretty bad cold for two days and don't need to ride in 30-40 degree weather. If someone would like to take the reins and lead tomorrow's ride (weather permitting), I'd be grateful. Keep an eye on FINS for rainfall amounts:

Anything under a .10" at the Mckee Rd. station means the trail should be ok to ride. Especially considering its supposed to be windy and sunny tomorrow. Just remember to be out of the park by 9:00pm. Thanks folks and hopefully I'll be back on the bike soon.

Bryan, I was just looking at FINS live and the individual one (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links), and it seems there is a difference in reporting.  I'm not sure if it is an update period thing or what, but FINS shows almost no rain .01, and the USGS shows about .30;  That's a pretty big discrepancy from the same gauge.

**Edit**

FINS finally updated; over 1/2" in some places.  I am soooooo tired of this cycle.  Angry

I just checked good ole' FINS and its showing Beatty got about .32" of rain. Some places near by got 1/2"! That's just too much to ride tonight so I'm going to cancel for tonight(3/6). Good news is next Wednesday is looking great and we'll have more daylight! Hope to see Ya'll out there.

Dont forget about the Sunday Social going on at Sherman Branch this Sunday(3/10):

Dang, I must have misread the days.  Could have sworn I saw it was not happening this week.  Looked back at the threads and that was for the week prior.

Oh well.

Hey folks,

I'm not going to be able to attend the next two weeks' rides (3/20 and 3/27). Im looking for someone to volunteer to help lead these two rides. Pretty much just meet/greet the folks that show up, make sure everyone makes it out ok, and run the raffle. Just PM me if your interested. Thanks.

Hey Bryan, I can do an earlier ride tomorrow starting at 6pm but can't really commit to staying for the late ride at 7pm. Maybe we can do a social lap at 6 but then whoever wants to stay and do a night lap is free to do so? Let me know what you think....

I've got a 40 mile road ride planned tomorrow, but would be up for both a social and night lap.  Let me know if anyone is planning on going.

Thanks for the offer Emily. I guess what I'll do is just postpone the "official" ride until I can get back. This lets whoever wants to show up organize themselves whenever they feel like it. My Dad's birthday is tomorrow and Im going to be in the mountains fly fishing all next week. So our next "official" ride/raffle will be April 3rd. Probably a good thing since I've had a shoulder injury that just wont heal. A few weeks off the bike is going to be tough but needed if Im going to heal up.

FYI... Anyone that wants to ride Beatty at night just make sure to ride Wednesdays only and be out of the gates by 9pm.  That is the agreement with Parks and Rec. Please respect this so not to jeopardize future night rides.

Thanks folks, see ya'll in a couple weeks!
