Although the ride starts at the Dowd YMCA at 7:30, the Tarheel Trailblazers and the Dirt Divas have been meeting beforehand the last few years to ride as a group to the event start. It's a great way to show the folks here in town who we are, and riding in a group is always fun.
Once again, this year's Ride to the Mayor's Ride will depart from QueenCity Bicycles at
7:00 a.m. sharp (so arrive a little early to socialize and get ready), and we'll travel a short distance through the Dilworth neighborhood to the Dowd YMCA to meet up with other cyclists from all over Charlotte. Bart has allowed us to meet at the shop, and I will lead our group to the event.
It's a short ride to show the people (and leaders) of Charlotte how important bicycling is in our area, so you don't want to miss it.
It will make a huge impact for the clubs if we show up as a large group, so please remember to wear your club jerseys (Tarheel Trailblazers or Dirt Divas) so we can be easily recognized.
If you have any questions, you can reply to this post or send me a PM. Also, it would be nice to see how many of you will be there, so please post up if you will attend.
Remember, this is all free, and you get a little exercise to start your day!
Thanks in advance, and I hope to see you all there!
