Do you think a trail run at Francis Beatty would be ok?

Proabably not. Depends on what part of the trail. Below the dam...not so much.

I've only been out a couple of times to help in the last 6 months but I am starting to wonder if trail runners ever come out to help?  That would exclude the guys and gals that ride and run?

Any trail runners (especially at beatty, ever come out?)

Rarely. Only a couple individuals that i know of. Bryan is working to tap into the school cross country teams that race out there. The kids need volunteer hours and we need strong backs.

A trail runner came out and helped tonight. I think he said he used to ride long ago but now only trail runs. I think its the second time he has come out. Super nice guy. He said most runners have no idea about trail work and the amount of work that goes into it.

Yep, I think his name was Keith (I am very bad with names)

He actually stayed and kept working after everyone else had gone. Very cool to see other people pitching in to help support the trails.

Boy do I feel your pain! We also have a big mess on our hands. I am really amazed at how people don't give a crap about the damage that they do after so much rain. We just got hit with a really bad storm in Harrisburg. I live 5 miles down from Sherman and I would be suprised if there isnt stuff down everywhere. We have no power and trees and branches all over the place. 70 mph straight line winds.

So far not so much rain for Sherman (White farm gauge?). Only1/4 inch; subject to change. Beatty's got 1/2 already.  Sad

Indian Trail got pounded Thursday evening. One inch of rain and lots of trees down all over my neighborhood.  I lost some siding and shingles.  Beatty had to get some of it looking at the radar....

Well crap. The rain sucks but my garden is kicking a$$. Silver lining. The runner's name was Nathan. Super nice guy. Wish more runners/hikers would come out. Thanks for the help yesterday Nathan, Matt, Emily, and Craig!! Smiley

We got a good inch of rain where I live and some tree damage.  10 minutes away it's like a war zone.  Huge trees down, power outages.

+1 on the garden doing great though.

Rode today.   Trail is mostly dry. A few muddy spots.  Two big trees down across the trail.  One is on the new black trail around the bend from the second wood ramp and the other is after you rejoin the main black just as you hit the double gully.  Both require you to get off and carry your bike over the trees.

Gravitytheif76, I have been out of town for a few days and returned to a trail conditions update for FB of "unfavorable" as of 6/16. It may be helpful to further define "infavorable". Thanks for all the hard work your crew is putting into the trail.

Trail is drying out but severely damaged from getting over 6 inches of rain in 2 days. Despite being closed the trail was ridden soaking wet by innumerable morons. Several bridges needed work and whole segments of trail have been lost to sediment overflow. 2 trees are currently down....conditions: Unfavorable. Ride at your own risk.

Perhaps just post the trail as closed like I've recommended several times. Smiley
