The bridge at the end of the swamp trail is going to need some shoring up.  Looks like it came close to getting washed away.

I cut my ride short due to many very wet waterlogged sections ... could use another day or so to dry out.

I've gotten several calls saying that the trail is a mess and needs another couple days to dry closing it now. Please stay off And let it heal.

The website said it was open this morning so I took a lap around 11am and it was sloppy to say the least.  Lots of puddles everywhere. The roots were damp but not slippery.  I usually take two laps out there but completed one and called it, due to the conditions.  The trail probably should have stayed closed today.

Yep trail was a mess, new black was actually better than most.

The bridge mentioned above is the one right before the one with rails, dam section.

4-5 really bad ruts... enough to stop 29er wheels dead in their tracks. Took it as easy as I could.

This ride was after 1pm today.  I'm not even thinking of going back out there for 2 days maybe longer if it gets more rain.

I too saw the trail open and went and rode (was kind of surprised to see it open). I agree with others that it probably should have stayed closed. Some of the trail was totally fine but not so much for other parts. So kind of repeating what other have already said here.....

The black trail actually looked pretty good overall including chigger hollow.

The big bridge on the green trail (right after you go through that low laying part we worked on at the last big work day we had out there) looks wobbly like its starting to get washed away. I didn't get under it to see what actually is going on though so it might just look more rickety than it actually is.

The off camber ramp that leads you up on to the bridge with the rails on the blue section is sticking up out of the ground and has moved over. You can still get up on the bridge by riding in the dirt.

Otherwise I didn't see any big damage, just lots of muddy spots and lots of ruts from tire tracks. Overall the trail actually looked better than I expected with the amount of rain we got.

Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt.

That one is tied down with cables from the last time it was fetched from about 75 feet down stream.

Count me in for one afterwork period this week.
Pm me gravity if you have a specific section you want patched up.

Hey, I remember that!  That was what, six or seven years ago?

Seven at least. What I remember was we set it up higher on timbers then it's first spot so I thought it was a  little silly to cable it to the trees. Guess those cables were money well spent.

2+ inches of very hard rain this morning.  Well maybe it will be dry for the fall.  This is nuts.

What's better than a kick in the teeth when you're already on the ground.  Started raining yet again.

Now that Beatty has essentially washed away we can rebuild it into what we've always wanted, which is, well...I don't know.

Undecided

I'm still seeing water run off all around the area, and we had rain this morning again.  I would't consider FJB before the weekend

Before the weekend?? That is a bit extreme. If it does not rain again, it will be mostly dry by Wednesday and dusty on Thursday.

Perhaps in the parking lot.  On second thought, may be worth it to keep the trail closed through the balance of the month just to be safe.

Huh
