My buddy Sam works for Republic Wireless and they sent him to race the TransRockies with a co-worker named Adam who recently finish 2nd at ORAMM. They set up a website and video blogs and are currently 3rd overall in the team category. Sam is from Davidson and I worked with him back in the days of The Wheel bike shop. This looks like the opportunity of a lifetime. Check it out:

Sweet. Did Sam work there when he was about 17 or 18?

edit, I just looked at the pics. Man, I have not seen Sam since my senior year in highschool. He was the only other person in highschool that rode a bike, more than just around the neighborhood. Him mountain bikes and me BMX. Pretty crazy out of 3000 kids. I used to bug him about getting me a job at The Wheel.

He let me borrow his titanium mountain bike for my senior exit essay. "The Evolution of the Mountain Bike"

Glad to see he is doing good and riding still!
