OK.  Now don't get me wrong because I don't mind watching some teen/20 something huck off a 50 ft drop but where are the good XC videos?  You don't need 6 foot tall doubles/dirt jumps with 360 tail whip "can cans" every 30 seconds to make a nice video.  Or tearing up virgin dirt in Utah.  PALEEEZE.  Only good one I ever saw was Chain Smoke 2 and even it was only 1/3 XC.

Ayone?  Bueller?  BUELLER?!

BTW most XC videos these days are really dumb.

I have a couple gigs of GoPro from me and others riding around Sherman.  I will let it go cheap.

AND BORING...

Honestly, how exciting and cool is it watching someone ride XC trails?
Well, let's see...

In regards to XC videos...

"Woah, that guy shredded that flat area at Renni!" -said no one ever
"Watching that guy climb 1300' of fire-road totally got me stoked to ride!" - said no one ever
"Where can you buy that full spandex bike shop sponsored kit?!" - said no one ever
"You see that fork flex and air he got when he went over that ROOT?!" - said no one ever

^^^Get the point?

I enjoy watching some good AM videos where actual trail/enduro style bikes are utilized.

XC videos are about as entertaining as watching late nite CSPAN  Smiley

I think it's more of a matter of being able to relate to it.  DH videos are more pervasive than XC videos but there are a whole lot more XC specific trails than there are DH trails, especially in this part of the country.  I've never ridden a DH specific trail (maybe one day) so I would like to see more XC videos.  Also, there's something primeval about seeing someone suffer up steep singletrack climbs...I'd watch an XC race on TV if they'd air one, but they don't so all we're left with is Le Tour (where the climbs get the most attention) & I don't even own a road bike! I've always noticed that as soon as the leaders top out on the climbs they go to the commercials (ARGH!)...very little footage of the descents is aired for some odd reason as that's where the fastest speeds are attained!

honestley, XC videos are out there , they are just in spots on some of the main vidoes. NotBad had Shandroe doing his thing in NZ and it was killer. Yeah I kinda like to see some XC vidoes. Specialized has some I know. It is not all about hucking but about riding a bike . The End.

I still have the original Chainsmoke on VHS.  I love that vid.  Maybe not a ton of XC but the soundtrack is good and watching how smooth Palm is just blows me away.

XC videos are dumb b/c XC is dumb.

Enduro is the new black.  Embrace it.

"XC is dumb"

I guess you don't ride any of the trails around here, then...besides, what is XC except enduro with climbing?
