Spider level ranking of trails

After getting creeped out by riding BYT and Poston this week and getting covered and bringing a few home to scare the 4 year old. Beattie was a nice change today.

Where would be good for tomorrow? I'm tired of carrying extra protein around.

Please the spiders here are NOTHING compared to the Yellow Orb spiders that were common place in central Florida trails...

I could see the use for a log that basically was "Last time trail was ridden"....I'd like to know next time you clear out the spiders at BYT so I know it's good to go!

BYT was free-n-clear of them critters yesterday afternoon!

Man that place is AWESOME!!  Hadn't been there in a couple months...all I can say is WOW.

Had a killer ride except for my chain randomly dropping down into the chainstay dragging on the tire causing a buzzing sound when I coast over rough terain...I guess it's a lack of tension on the chain from the rear der 'cause as soon as I pedal the chain is back where it should be...pretty frustrating but it still didn't detract from the ride too much.

Man...I'm still not able to clear that big concrete-rock-pile-thing climb after the poo-track section!  Can't seem to get enough momentum leading up to it...next time.

The concrete hill is harder to climb now then when it was originally built due to the erosion from all the rain we have had.  There is going to be a sheet of expanded metal inlaid with dirt on the hill to help retain the dirt. You may have seen the sheet at the top of the hill awaiting its burial. I always stop after the I beam and tree roll-over and rest before attempting the concrete hill, and still only make it 2 out of 5 tries.

I used to ride; now I just drink and cry about not riding.

Scott B,

I bet I cleared the way for you yesterday and I picked up at least 2 at Beatty this am too. I finally had to stop and remove my helmet to get the bugger that (felt like he) was biting me!  Angry

Besides the spidies, best morning rides all summer with the change in weather.

recently I or a group I was with was the first of the day to RRT, BYT and Renni.  Renni is by far the least spiderized, then big protein step up at BYT with RRT the winner.  It was like riding through Spiderman's home turf.

I ran Steve's last saturday a little before 6am. Nothing worse than clearing spiders in the dark.

I have ridden Fisher Farm a few times recently at dusk (it is getting dark much earlier now...) when I have been one of the last riders. i have been amazed at how quickly the spiders manage to web across the trail -- usually, I get "webbed" in newer blue section. Maybe the spiders are scared of all the roots in lower blue/green section   Wink

We have those here as well.  Ugh is right...have come across a few on morning rides at Sherman this summer.  Found this one outside my garage earlier this week...scary looking but I believe they are harmless.
