Lots of people riding FJB yesterday

Going past FJB at the end of a road ride yesterday and found myself very disappointed by the number of cars coming out of the main entrance with uber muddy bikes attached.

Perhaps it is time to see if there's a more aggressive option that can be taken in partnership with Parks and Rec to keep people off the trails until they can recover at least a little bit.

FJB = Beatty which is located in Matthews. I was in the area all day yesterday and although it didn't rain, I'm sure Beatty didn't have to time to recover from the previous day.

My vote is land mines that can be activated remotely.  I'll be in charge of it!

How about paint grenades to minimize maiming?

When was the last time that anyone was able to ride without damaging trails?

I haven't ridden all summer.  I have ridden 3-4 days a week for 20 years but haven't ridden more than a couple of times all summer.  Granted, I travel so maybe I just have poor timing.

This stinks!

Contact 49errider here on the board if you are looking for a great, reasonably priced, kayak teacher who provides all gear.

I rode by there on the road bike yesterday, too. Took a loop on the road in the park, and the trail entrances looked deceptively dry. I think that, and the rare sunny weekend day, and the fact that for years Beatty was "never closed" combine to make it hard to get folks to observe the status on the home page. FWIW, at least the people here that look at, and pay attention to, the status page are staying off the trail. That's a start. And, as more time goes by with Beatty's status listed, more and more people will get used to looking for it.
Do you think a paint grenade would be effective against the "Dude, it's awesome to get muddy!" riders? Might just encourage them...

They left off the C in front of FJB.
