Wifey said she saw a sign and a new building going up in Torringdon for a new bike shop.  Anyone know the details on it?

Yep - Trek sign is up - my wife noticed it this AM and asked me about it.

It's in the NW section of Torringdon. Same area as the Ruby Tuesdays, Sticky Fingers BBQ joint, and Hickory Tavern, just closer to the bridge and greenway.

Yeah we had heard about this awhile back. Kind of excited to see how it turns out. Hopefully it ends up being a real bike shop since its nice and close to us. We don't have any full fledged real bike shops near us.

Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt.

Not the best spot in my opinion, but great to have something other than just REI Carolina Place in the hood.

That's kinda of an expensive lease area; I hope the store can sustain a good level of revenue and GP.

I used to ride; now I just drink and cry about not riding.

This is their third location (trek store at Northlake and Cool Breeze are owned by the same people).  Should have no issues of being a real bike shop.

They will be able to access the McMullen creek greenway from their parking lot. There is a fairly new bridge behind Pikes garden store that connects to the greenway. Will be cool for test rides and mellow group rides. Or daily Strava assaults on the greenway.  Wink

They'll probably get a lot of business from the few people who still supported Carolina Bicycle Company before they closed.   I have a bunch of shops real close to work, but nothing near home anymore except for REI.

We are working hard to get the shop opened by November 1st.  Stop by and introduce yourself to the new manager.  His name is Doug.

Cool, now I won't have to drive as far the next time my Trek frame breaks. On my third frame so far. Riding the Superfly PRO AL right now.  At least they upgrade me each time...
