My 29x2.2 DTC's sealed up fine. Took more sealant than what is normally used for a 29er.  I would add more sealant and then spin, flip, spin, flip rinse and repeat for a while.

You sure you couldn't just ride that out?

I ran nevegals front and rear, tubeless w/ stans, for a long time with no allergic reactions like that. Same as the earlier response, the sidewalls would leak air at first, but after adding extra sealant and spinning they eventually closed up.

29"ers will take more sealant than a 26" to seal due to the larger tire volume.
The problem with the separation is not new, though Kenda's tend to (or seam to) have more of a problem with this then other brands. If you look around some of the other forums this has been an issue for a while.

Kenda states on their packaging that Nevegals are not intended to be run tubeless. They are light weight and that comes at a price... Ultra thin sidewalls. The sidewalls leak  sealant.
