Snow skiing this winter

Print Post
So I have met some great people here in this group, and some have mentioned that they are also skiers.  I was a skier for years when I lived in NY but haven't skied in about 5 years.  I would like to get back into it a little bit.  Is anyone else a skier and want to do a couple of road trips to ski this winter?  I am thinking just day trips from Charlotte.  I know that it is probably a little early for this, but just wanted to put it out there.  I probably wouldn't do any skiing until after the new year as the holidays get too busy...

Thanks,

Justin

Make sure if you respond to this thread that you subscribe to it.  Once the season is here I will use it to hit everyone up to see who wants to go.

Thanks,

Justin

I typically go Snowboarding once a week, once the season is going.

Snowshoe is opening Wednesday! Sure wish I could be there! I have a season pass and hope to go a lot. It is a long drive, but well worth it. Let it SNOW!! I'm already thinking about downhill riding, even thought the season just ended. I have my pass for that also for next year.

I'm down! Skiing in NC is not the greatest but it's a lot better than not skiing. Winterplace is not bad and Snowshoe is def worth the drive.

Headin up to snowshoe either first or second week of Feb.  Headin up on Sunday and coming back Thursday.  Room for a couple more if anyone is interested.  Would be the 2-6 or the 9-13.

Since the trail are closed and will be for awhile, Sheila and I will be heading to Snowshoe Friday night for 3 days of skiing. First trip this year, so we're excited!

Hey drdirt55, we're staying in SC5118 at Silvercreek. I did own Powderidge 34 and 35, but sold them a few years ago. I hope to see you up on the hill. If you see 2 short people with red helmets, give us a yell!

I was up there Thursday-Sunday this past weekend and stayed in Shamrock.  Despite the rain and somewhat warm temps during the day I had a blast.  Conditions this week are sure to be even better than last.  Be safe and enjoy!

Hey Slothzilla, we almost bought a Shamrock unit in 1997, but it didn't work out. Glad you had a blast.
drdirt, we will be over first thing Sunday morning to make a few runs down Cupp Run while our legs are fresh, then ski the basin side before heading back to Silvercreek. Maybe see you then.
