A lot of questionable line choices/shortcuts in there. Makes me wanna take a closer look at some of the local courses...

Event coordinator should have done a better job marking the actual course and given penalties to any rider for every cut through.  Actually should have never done the race in the first place.  Great way to totally destroy what looked to be a really nice trail system.

Damn shame is what it is...feel bad for the trail gnomes there. Cry

BTW many riders in the Summer Series do the same thing at Fisher. Although it is kept to a minimum by carefully placed rocks and logs. Wink  Rusty barbed wire is next...

Rant, over.

The race was in Northern Ireland.
Pretty sure the trails are that damp 24/7.

Actually is a really cool idea for a race and looked like it would be a blast, shortcuts and all... Roll Eyes

No doubt about that.  Looked like they started on top of a peat bog.  My comment was aimed more towards all the shortcuts.  Yea, they looked fun but a lot of damage to be fixed by volunteers.

Try that at BYT and see worker-rider have an aneurysm!!  Shocked

I agree.  I thought the shortcuts were part of the skill of the race and clearly played a factor.  The guy wearing the camera (was that Gee?) was a BEAST.
