OK it happens,,,,,,just some randome stuff crossing my mind.  Feelings, physical and well being, mentally strong enough to go on,,,,answer YES<<<<<EMF.........I am in the process of building up a 29er,,,,My buddy, Hudson, saw this diamond in craigslit. One look at in person and it was like a whole new game,,ready to give it a shot after all the hate I have had about hearing them. Man I know they are good,,never doubted it once, just thought damn, big people ride these things,,,I am short ....So to be thankfulll , I am for my friends who take care of me and my family and the beer selection at the Ol HT...thank you and good nite...Go ride a bike but never get boared....

Just recently bought a 29er and started riding it. Its shortcomings are immediately noticeable([poor agility, slow steering, feels like your driving on wagon wheels), but it destroys trail once you get it rolling. Get those hoola hoops up and spinning fast and they float over everything in their way. They also maintain that momentum much better. I still like my Nomad in the mountains though. Those big wheels are much better suited to cross country riding but...

I test rode a Canfield Bros. Nimble 9 a couple weekends ago and it was incredible. Its like a 29er cross country hard trail and a AM/Freeride 26'er had a baby. That thing could jump and move around like a DJ bike but had the big wheels too keep you rolling. With a 140mm fork it was perfect. If you can find a short chainstay/slack head angle 29er, get one. Think Kona Honzo, Chromag Surface or Rootdown, or Niner ROS.

I have a trek superfly al.  To be honest, it's what I started riding on... Always felt great and nimble cause that's what I knew.  Jumped on a 26 7mos later and have been riding that since, got back on the 29 and I felt the concerns of the big wheels.  Last week I decided to adjust the cockpit.  Rolled the bars, short (40mm) stem.  Now, I feel I can move it just as well as my 26.  To be honest, maybe even feel better in the tigger stuff cause it's not as slack and is way lighter.  FWIW, I'm short 5'5".  I find it I can move as well as my Remedy... And yes, them big hoops keeps it Rollin!  Forgot how much fun I had on it.  I have no issues now switching between the HT 29 and the suish 26.  Enjoying both wheel sizes!
