2014 Winter Short Track Series is just month away. We've had a little delay this year as USAC has made a lot of changes so we are weighing the cost of using USAC vs private insurance. Our goal is to keep the event entry fees as low as possible.

We will once again offer online registration for the series and each individual event.  We will also offer registration at each race venue.   

The 2014 dates have been posted so mark you calendars.

How many locals racers really get any benifit from joining USAC or care about points outside the current race series anyway? 5% maybe?

Thats my 2 cents.

My annual USACycling domestic License increases in 2014 to $70. 
Part of this is for Insurance which K&K Speciality Benefits Inc admin 
for Nationwide Life Ins which in turn covers racers who when injured 
require Hospital Treatment. Most folks due to the Affordable Care Act  
should be insured for medical treatment anyway in 2014. 
The $5 per race paid be participants is for a secondary insurance
and carries a deductable of $1000.with max coverage of only $25,000. 
       I would suggest getting expert advice from a consultant, for a
secondary private Insurance that makes claiming copays and other
charges not covered by the primary Insurer much simpler.

The new private insurance we are going to use has an accident medical policy and you don't have to be a member of USAC.  Its 25k max with $100 deductible.

Course going to be with or without the mud bog, err I mean field tomorrow?

If we did try to race it with all of this rain today, it would be YouTube worthy.

Today was my first ever mountain bike race.  Big thanks to the organizers and everyone who came out.  I had a blast and I didn't die! 

There was supposed to be a photographer there taking pics but he didn't show up.  I've seen a few here and there on Facebook. If I see a link to any, I'll post them on this forum.   

Thanks to all who came out.  The trail was in pretty good darn shape for 36 hour of rain the day and a half before.

I dropped in briefly and it liked like it could be fun. Will try have a go in some of the upcoming races.
