BYT Sunday work @ 9.

Planning on moving dirt and rocks to build landing ramp. Looks like a little over 1 inch of rain today. So riding is out. The plan is to park at the back gate at 9. Got the ok from plant manager. Walk down service road and haul rocks and dirt and also put treated lumber under jump to sturdy it up. Then go out and fix a small jump that is gone. The one before you start down the jump line and that pesky mud hole. Very easy fix. I will bring tools some are in the pipe already. I only plan on working till 12 or 1. If I or we have time I would also like to take some wood from the FB enterance and take it to large log ride to get that going. Also need to fix poo tracks enterance but will get concrete to fix that. Iron track is very slick if you hit it wrong you slide out. Pm me if you would like to come out so I can get a head count to plan some. Thanks!

Yes, they get slick when damp....and it was worth every stitch! Thanks you for making this my favorite place to ride in Charlotte!

No quick clot this time. I usually carry a few the nexcare bandages but did not have one the the first time i really needed it. tucked a base layer under my chamois and road back to my car at BicycleSport while the adrenaline was still kicking.

We were on a night ride two weeks ago and it was damp with a light drizzle (not rain). Hit the middle of the off-camber bridge on jump line and washed out. Wish i was doing something cool which is what makes me mad. I have hit that thing a million times so was not thinking anything of it.

That's what happens when you get comfortable and think about anything else but what you are doing and where you are going. Poo rails got me twice. So glad poo dirt is so soft! Sorry about your leg. Will leave a sweet scar!

Did the same thing in light mist on a small bridge at Beatty last Saturday. Its in Chigger hollow just after a sharp corner. Soon as I saw it I knew I was down. Hit hard but no pretty stiches. Left some nice "teeth" marks in the bridge.

These bridges need either shingles or sand paint for some extra traction.

I ate it on the same spot. I think the black diamond should be over the bridge!

I lost count the number of times I said exactly these two sentences when explaining to folks over the last 18 months how I broke my leg on a flat bridge at Sherman.

Needless to say I am now more skeptical of any wooden platform and ride them with a much different mindset than I did in the past. Same goes with going down stairs and even stepping off a curb.

I think the off camber bridge at BYT you reference is the only one on that trail I haven't ridden. Never quite understood the off camber part of that. I am probably just not doing it right.
