Anybody been out to the Pharr Family Preserve Trail out in Midland? It says it's open to bikes (and it's closer to me than any other trail). I'm just curious as to what kind of ride it is and if you know length. (I realize it's probably not single track or particularly challenging).

This is the first I've heard of it...and it's practically in my back yard. It took me a few minutes, but I did find the address for those interested in checking it out:

9111 Mt. Pleasant Road South, Midland, NC 28107

Last summer I visited a similar new section of the Thread Trail near Mt. Pleasant (just off Mt. Pleasant Rd, but on the other end). It wasn't too much at this point, but worth visiting once if you are nearby. Here's a link to that one: (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Thanks for mentioning this. BTW Trouble, if you're close to that then you're also close to RRT!

Yep, I went on RRT back in November with some friends. Ran out of time and didn't get to ride the whole thing.

Any idea when the thread trail at the USNWC will be open for riding again?

The county is doing construction to the water treatment facility that the Thread Trail borders.  My understanding is that the trail will remain closed until they are done with construction.
