Remove old cleats?

My 5 year old crank bros candies are finally dying, and I'm planning on switching to SPD. I cleaned all the dirt out of the bolts on the cleats, but it seems they've been rounded off over the years. Any suggestions on how to remove them? I have a dremel if it comes to that.

I've drilled out cleats before.  Sometimes you can just make a bit deeper hole that you can get a wrench on.  Sometimes they will disintegrate and fall out.

Can also be used to extract other rounded out fasteners.

Since you have a dremel, you can cut a slot for a flathead screwdriver, but I always skip that step and go straight to the drill.  Once the head is gone, you can usually grab the remainder of the bolt with a pair of vice grips.

Put some PB Blaster on them first, but the dremmel is the best answer.

Thanks all. Now I get to pick some shiny new pedals...to put under my dirty ol' shoes.
