Holy &^&^ wow. Those berms on the South trail entrance are killer. At first I was all wtf are they doing here? Then bam...becoming one of my favorite trails again. Props...

The new north entrance is great too, like the switch back climbs.

Any news on when or if the thread trail is going to open up again?

I did the north main loop yesterday and got a little lost.  It looked like they have not completely closed off the old trail sections and marked the new so it was sometimes a little difficult for me to know where to be.

Is the entrance now is what used to be the exit?  And, where does the N Main exit come out now?  I must have missed it, cause I wound up on the S Main trail.

Any idea of how the new routing affects the trail length?

Total trail length was not really effected.  One part got a little longer and another got a little shorter....so they even each other out.

Correct, the entrance is now what used to be the exit. There is no longer an exit under the powerlines.

The exit now comes earlier, and brings you back to the channel loop instead of the main trailhead.  It's a 180 degree left turn just before the new descent with all the berms, and it is marked with exit signs.  It loops you back into the entrance trail and brings you out on the channel loop.

Lee, has the map on this site been updated yet?

Thanks for the hard work Lee-

The fairly new addition and great upkeep of East Main, new routes on south main and now these updates (which I only noticed in passing while riding on Sunday), I'm reminded why this is one of the best trails around.

The USNWC and your work is appreciated.

Thanks!  I did see the new exit sign, but it's hard to change old habits, LOL.  All the changes that have recently been made to the trails have made them better.  I can't wait to try out those berms on the bike (was running the other day).

Trails are still showing as open right now.  I went this afternoon and was on the trail around 2:15.

North Main is completely roped off.  First half of East Trail is an absolute mess, most of South was okay, most of the Lake Loop was okay too.  Most of the optional trails off of South were in pretty good shape, except one uphill on carpet trail that I had to walk because it was so muddy.

Probably more than 80% of the trail was dry and in great shape, but the parts that were muddy were completely saturated in thick and slippery mud.  Honestly don't know why it was open considering how strict they were about closing it last spring and summer.  But I had already paid my $5...

passing by on 85s after work yesterday, I noticed 3-4 guys working on the open areas under the powerlines at weight station (jump lines). glad to hear of continuing updates to the main trail loops. When the ground dries out I'll have to check out the newer stuff.

I checked the web site yesterday afternoon, it show green so I geared up. About 20 minutes after I checked the web site I pulled into WWC and the red flag was out. Started to go this afternoon but the the USNWC web site shows that the trails are closed.
Are they open this afternoon?

I saw them building big jumps near the end of the South Main.  Looks super fun, but it's all incredibly soft right now.  Didn't realize you could see it from the highway!

Rode it for the first time this year.  Perfect condition except for a bit of the Lake Loop.

I'm guessing its just the lack of this trail being open, but I'm surprised there isn't more conversation about it.  I have been there more times than I can count and generally don't like change when I'm happy already, but I have to say the updates are quite impressive.  Nice work!
