Beatty Trail Closure

Print Post
PSA: We have had to temporarily close a section of trail at beatty due to a water main leak in the adjacent neighborhood. The affected section is above the Log Roll over on the Enchanted forest, past the uphill bermed switchbacks and thru the next few dips.

The pipe has been broken for almost 3 weeks and has created an artificial stream where none existed before. This has decimated a section of trail.

We have posted the section closed and flagged a re-route with pink flagging tape. Please respect the closure. Once Cmud gets around to fixing the pipe, we will allow the trail to dry, repair it, and re-open.

But seriously, please skip this section when riding...tell your friends too. Thanks.

The water leak is fixed and other than for the far turn in which a very small section is still blocked off, the trail is open.  There is also a stretch that is still water logged and is covered with some temporary boardwalk.

Interesting, based upon the home page, that section of the trail is closed.   Huh

Hey GravityThief,  Let me know when you plan on having a work day to repair and reopen the remaining.  Ill try to get out there and volunteer again this year.  (I live right around the corner) (but am currently fighting a bum ankle from last weekends ride)

Are you the most recently assigned to Beatty? (if THTB are still doing that)

Keep an eye 3 places for scheduled work days. 1. On the lower right hand side of the homepage under the trail status, 2. In the forums under "Down and Dirt", and 3. On the club Facebook page.

David officially became the trail coordinator for Beatty a little over 2 years ago.

Cool, thanks.  Thats about how long I have been out of the loop.  I usually keep up with it when it posts on #2 you mentioned.

I was just more curious if there was any "idea" of an upcoming one that was not officially posted yet.  (Being so busy it sux that I have to plan my leisure and volunteer activities in advance) ;]

There will be plenty of days coming soon. We have a small one Sat 2-22 that is mostly for the trail crew as there will be heavy machinery involved. Keep an eye out for postings in the areas cycle path mentioned. We can always use a hand!

"Ou -  ou" [hand goes up]  Heavy machinery? Can you re-grade/ de-berm and put in real (BIG) drains and sumps along the three amigos section? Been meaning to suggest that since working there on Superbowl Sunday. (I'll be out of town the 22 but ready to help otherwise.)
