FYI  Backyard and Park Road are an absolute mess right now.  Please try to find alternate places to ride or exercise to give the trail time dry a bit.

I am going to put up caution tape in the morning at the enterance along with a sign saying closed due to muddy conditions. Please stay out and let it dry for a little while. You are creating more work for others. I am also working on getting all 3 sides on the homepage under trail conditions. I have 1 person who is willing to update it. Thanks Bob!

Amen!  I've been riding and grooming that trail for 10+ years and never seen it so bad...needs to rest a bit.  That delta in temps makes for a deep thaw which brings up moisture and it gets ruined even if it have not rained in days (so 24 hour rule useless)  Thank you for temporarily shutting it down

Even with the closed signs up i have seen a bunch of riders back there.  I see them riding up and down the street all evening.  Last night there was a group of what looked like 5-6 night riders.

I know that you live very close. Go out and tell them that the trail is closed for a reason. I live to far away to keep track of who goes in and out. All we can do is just to use your best judgment. When the trail gets torn up bad enough and no one works on it then we will see what happens. I will not be doing ANY work out their this summer. Let's see who steps up to keep it cut back?

Yesterday i saw a group going in, i slowed to talk to them, and they took off.  that was before i even rolled down my window.  I was going to let them know that the trail is super muddy and would trash their bikes.  they were kids.  The group in the woods in late evening WERE NOT KIDS.

I have not been back there in a few days (maybe 2 weeks), but my yard is soaking wet, and there are not tire ruts in that, so i can only assume.  I may go for a jog back there tonight and see if i can find anyone riding.

Going out to inspect MD and Farmbrook by bike around 10.  If the trail is in good shape and the rain/radar is looking clear, we will open the trail and pull the tape back.  Look for a post either way by 10:30 latest.

Just like the under the radar weekly ride @ Catawba when it was closed during the transformation to the WWP these things happen.
