Trail Status - On the front page

Print Post
To however, or whomever has increased the trail count and the status updates to the front page... this is great and I appreciate the effort for those that will be updating these Open / Closed Status.

This will help the general feel of "ya think a trail is open or not" in any way-

This has been needed for a LONG time.

Any way to add Rocky River to the list- and let Steve be the commander?

Thank you to all.

RRT is not shown on the list because the owner does not want to be on it at this time.

Do what you like. Stop hating people for their riding habits and get back to hating them for their skin color, religion, politics, and sexual orientation.

Generally if Sherman is open then RRT is open as well.  Watcher is pretty good about updating the status in this sub-forum on the rare occasion it is closed, though.

Yesterday Beatty showed "open", post on 2/17, but today it is back to closed, posted 2/10.  Was yesterday's post a mistake?

Yes.  It has been remedied and returned to it's "Opossum" status.  Wink

So on a serious note:  I'm the one who initiated getting the additional trails added to the status page.  While doing that I removed the "Muddy" status and the "Unfavorable" status.  It their place I had the "Opossum" status added as a joke to liven things up a bit and because Banjo had so expertly Photoshopped it on one of his posts a few weeks ago.

That being said, I have gotten some feedback about confusion of the "Opossum" status and would like everyone's honest opinion on it.  I do realize that just using that status all the time would be confusing and have remedied it by posting open or closed just below it to limit the confusion.

So what say you?  Wink

I think it's humorous so I don't have a problem with it. I think its pretty obvious what it means. I guess it could be confusing to newcomers though.

I agree with Dennis. We need to KISS. Remember Fred reads this once in a while and we do not need to make him think. He will forget his helmet when he rides an Opossum status trail.

I hate it. It's terribly confusing and only leads to people scratching their heads in despair. Please take it away and never do this again. I would like to laugh but can only cry.

Although I see the humor in it also, I think it needs to be cut and dry so there is no confusion.  There is already enough issues of people disrespecting the trails and riding when wet.  No need for someone to read the trail status the wrong way and go for a ride.

We're adding KISS' tour schedule to the homepage!?  A bit off topic for a cycling forum but it still rocks!
