If anyone is interested in doing this race:

I have a $10 off coupon for it.

We rode the course yesterday and it would be a great "intro to Pisgah racing" event. There's alot of gravel but also some really fun single track. A couple big climbs too.

thanks yall.

Any of you guys thinking about doing this?  I think I could handle it, not sure I would place well but it could be fun.  Banff film festival is the night before so I would go up same day.  Thinking about it.

Yeah it is alot of gravel. Some of the gravel is old roads that have grown over and are pretty fun (rocky, rooty, washed out). There was a section on private land where a fella has built his own singletrack. We did not ride that section but I was told it was steep and fun.

Overall it was a decent course. You climb up to Farlow but go past the trail and down a rocky road to hwy 215. Doing that climb up to Farlow, and not riding Farlow, was dumb...IMO. Although I could be wrong and that private singletrack we didnt ride could be the bees knees...who knows.

A better option would have been Farlow to Daniels back up 276 to Long branch to cemetery to cat...

The greatest part was in our group there was an old hippie dude riding a 20 year old FSR. Jeans, fleece pullover and water bottle mounted on the seat. He did the whole ride and was stoked the entire time....

Just goes to show that it aint about the bike. Its all about Want To...and that dude had Want To big time!
