BYT and a few trees

Print Post
A couple trees fell last evening due to the high winds we had in the area. Both are in the beginning on the Farmbrook side. First one is a biggie, just past the two way traffic entrance/exit section.

Lots of branches all over. I kicked a ton off the trail until I got bored doing it.

ciao

W/R

I'll try to get out there this afternoon and at least get the tree that is down up next to Farmbrook.
We about jumped right into it last night.

This goes for a warning to everyone else:

After you pull off right of the two way traffic trail at the beginning, and snake your way to those first two jumps before the newer berm, there is a tree that has fallen and is suspended off the ground right after the first of the jumps.  It's covered in ivy and you have a literal second to brake check.

Got to check the braking quality improvement from recently rebuilding both calipers last night... Shocked

I think the other "tree" that is down is a little ways after the really rooty climb, up near the fence line.

There is a lot of dead-fall out there. We were kicking a lot off the trail as well.

The new sections are great!  Great job W/R and crew!

Hey Santana  why didn't you kick the gumballs away while you were kicking sticks?.   BYT's 4 seasons = 1) Mud, 2) Gumballs, 3) Leaves of 3 and Legs of 8, and 4) Hickory Nut Grenades.  Bob

JR and I got them tonight. That first pine was in a bad spot. Will finally get a chance to ride in the morning before heading down to the bike show. By the way if you are out riding any of your favorite trails take some time to kick off some sticks it lets us get a chance to ride more.

W/R - good to meet you tonight and get a quick explain on the trail signage. Rode the BYT for the first time tonight, and I wasn't expecting all that! I can ride pretty much everything (some of the big jumps were beyond me) but man! So much diversity! And it just keeps coming at you!!! Obstacle after jump after bridge! I recommend people bring their lunch and make a day of it! I just had to turn around and ride some of that stuff a few times!

Another great trail guys, great job!
