We will work on the optional route at the top of the big gulley on the tennis court side.  This will be the first of several workdays for this optional route.  We will be benching in the first 20-50 yards.

This route has been "in-progress" for around 3 years.  Come out and help get this thing done while the ground is still soft from all this rain.

We will meet at the trail head right beside the sand volleyball courts.

Please post a reply or send a PM if you plan on helping so I can make sure I have enough tools.

Bring gloves and water and your favorite benching tool if you have one.

Thanks,
Blair

I'm in if you all have tools. I just moved down from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Unfortunately, my tools wouldn't fit in my Fiesta along with my essentials.

BTW, I have taken IMBA trail building training. I have also helped build Merrell trail in Rockford, MI and I was helping build the Wahlfield Park trails in Sparta, MI.

Moving down here, I want to continue to be a part of the MTB scene. And, if possible, be more involved.

Do you need any additional tools for Saturday like Pulaskis, McLeods, Shovels, etc?  If you do, let me know as I'll be in Charlotte for a meeting on Friday morning and can meet you and/or drop them off at your house.

All right, folks.  Many of you ride this trail on a regular basis and this man needs your help! Come give him hand so we can open the big gully bypass that we've talked about since 2010! Shocked

Besides, the weather is supposed to be nice on Saturday so no frozen fingers and toes. Smiley

Serious, folks.  Blair has been working out there by himself or with 1 or 2 other people.  I've heard much input on some needs for Reni so he really needs your help.  No...WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP!  Grin

I will be there as well. As I said before, I will need tools though. I had to leave everything I had in Michigan. Once I move down completely, I will have my tools, my wife and three kids that LOVE doing trail work <-----NO JOKE Cool

If there is anything that we are lacking. Let me know I can pick up something if necessary, within reason(Not enough funds for a ditch-witch....LOL) Grin

Nathan,

I look to meeting you and the entire family.  I have three kids as well but they go and hide when I'm going to do trail work now.

I'll have all the tools you'll need.

Check your PMs.

A big THANKS to Nathan and John for their help this morning.  With their help about 40 yards was benched in.  The Gulley ride-around option is looking good (pictures to come).

There is about 2 to 3 more weekends of work.  If you can lend just an hour or two all the help would be appreciated.

When the first part of the optional trail is finished you down hill people need to come check it out.  About 15-20 more yards will be added to the top.  It won't be for the timid.
