So long, Trailblazers

So it is finally official, I got a job with Cannondale Sports Unlimited in Boston!

I cannot express how much I have loved working with the club over the years. I know most of you half as well as I'd like to, and others less than that. The lessons I've learned working with this club will be put to great use as my career in the cycling industry pushes on.

I wanted really badly to have my signature left in Charlotte, in the form of a brand new style of trail, one that would define a new era of trail building for this beautiful city. Unfortunately, the move is coming before construction will begin, but I leave my vision in capable hands, and I will certainly be down upon completion of the brand new PumpTrail.

In light of this, I have a favor to ask of all of you:

Whether you have or haven't given any of your time to the club in past trail projects, I urge you to be a part of this trail. This trail will raise the future of the Tarheel Trailblazers, it will be the absolute best trail Charlotte has ever seen, and it will embraced by the non cycling community, but only if the cycling community puts all of their effort into it and makes sure it can be the best. Pull out all the stops, channel everything into making this the trail it deserves to be.

Thank you all for your years of brotherhood, friendship, and direction.

-Patrick

Patrick thank you for all you have done for the Club and the trails in Charlotte. I predict you will be back. Boston has some ugly winter!

When do you  leave?

I am excited for the winters, it will give me time off of the bike for a few months so that I am refreshed come spring. They want me to start on the 21st of this month. I have a house lined up and the landlord wants me to sign the lease on the 17th. So just a couple more weeks. My sister is having a big cook out to see me off on the 12th, if you'd like to come, shoot me a PM.

If I do come back, it won't be for a while. Cannondale offers 100% tuition reimbursement after a year of working there, so I'll more than likely be going for more degrees.

Best Wishes Patrick...  Smiley

I moved To Charlotte from Wisconsin to work in racing.

That was 12 years ago and I still enjoy it very much.

I feel the excitement for you because, the chance to pursue that

Passion to the next level is very rewarding.

Good luck up north man. Glad to see you in a position to use all that passion and energy. You need to figure out a way to bottle and sell it haha.

I hope to see your trails vision and intent come to life. Its really unique and will be a huge impact on Charlotte area cycling and beyond. Thanks for putting in the time on it and we'll do our best to make it happen.

Dont be a stranger down here though.

Good luck Patrick! I'm sure you'll have a blast. But it thought the new offices were in Milton, CT? Satellite in Boston?

You gotta take me out on a date before I do anything like that.
