Great new section at Fisher Farm!!

I just wanted to send Kudos to whoever built that new section at Fisher Farm.  It is a LOT of fun to ride.  The qualifier log pile to get in is virtually impossible to get over because of the angle you have to hit it at, but once that gets re-routed (if it does) it will be aces.

Whoever built the other features in there, could you hit me up in PM, or in here, as I would like to know if you followed a guide or something for those, or if you just "winged" it.  I would like to add some features like that at Riverwalk.

GREAT WORK!!!

Before this gets discussed all over again, read this...

Hello, My name is Will Washam and I live a few miles from Fisher.  I helped Mark layout, design and build a lot of the turns, rollers and features on the new section (minus the entrance feature  Smiley).  I think one of the most important things to note when one is beginning to add jumps, berms, bridges, or rollers to a trial is that you yourself must be a high level rider and have experience ripping the types of features you want to build.  In my opinion jumps, berms and rollers are built best when they are built by high level riders that know how much speed a feature will require to ride properly and what angles you need to provide smooth transitions, lips, and landings.  So my suggestions would be to engage riders that excel at riding the types of features you want to build and learn from them.  Progress your riding on the features that others have built until you can ride them properly, and then you will have the tools to visualize, design and construct jumps, rollers, berms etc. of your own.

Thanks for the kind words on the section, it is most definitely a fun one  Wink

GREAT WORK!!!

Thanks you for the kind words, sir!  It took a little longer than it should have but it was a work in progress.  5 of the berms were added in after the fact just because tight flat turns no like speed.

As far as the entrance...it can be ridden...it won't be bypassed...it's easy enough to walk and enjoy the rest of the loop.  I'm not trying to be an a** about it and maybe it's a bit harder than it should have been but that's the way it turned out.  I may add some dirt to the front of it in the future to make the transmission smoother which should allow you to keep more momentum.  You actually keep more speed coming into it than the log pile on Wild Hare.

I created Optional Trail Features guidelines for the club and used those to build the features.  Much of it comes from International Building Code, past experience and conversations with several professional trails builders.  I even had Woody Keen (Trail Dynamics) give me feedback and suggestions.  Send me an email and I'll send you a copy of it.

Thanks!

Mark

Just rode the new section, Mark and Will, AWESOME! Although that last booter scared the crap out of me. I hit it with too much speed and got launched. Fisher was nice and tacky today. Just watch out for the skinnies, they are a little greasy.
