Does anyone know the status of the Thread Trail at WWC?  It has been closed 6+ months I think.  Are they doing some major work on it, and when will it be opened again?

They aren't working on the Thread trail.  They are working on the facility on Hawfield rd that the Thread trail crosses.  That construction caused them to shut the Thread trail down until it is completed.

Thread is a long term project that's not limited to the WWP.  May be closed for now but not for good.

The last I spoke to the Foreman of the construction site he gave me an estimate of completion by July 4th, but that's just an estimate.  All we can really do is wait for them to give us the green light.   
As someone mentioned earlier in this discussion, the Carolina Thread Trail is not managed by USNWC, it is simply connected to our trail system, and eventually will link our trails to many others in the region.  Our staff installed closed signs at the junction of the Thread and Figure 8 at the request of Thread Trail management.
