Doesn't scare me a bit things dope, they basically took the design for industrial suction cups used to move glass panes and applied it to a bike.  I saw one of these on a guys Porsche in Raleigh.

Anybody leave their hitch rack on all the time? I don't have a garage and never took my yakima roof rack off.  Other than fading, it held up fine and locked to my roof rails.  Just wondering about weather/rust and theft issues.

always.  The 1 up is aluminum and looks as good as the day i installed it 3 years ago.  It has a theft deterrent system with a modified bolt that requires a modified allen tool.

Which every 1-Up customer now has.

This doesnt necessarily bother me as I take mine off unless I am headed to a trail, but it is something to consider if you dont have a garage and are just going to leave it on, unlocked.

True, but I think the likely hood of a 1-up customer stealing one off of your car is lower than that of a random desperate or unsavory individual.  I'm sure it's happened, but not a worry of mine.

But to that point, it's amazing how many of these racks you see in parking lots these days.  A couple of years ago everyone asked me what it was.  Now there are tens of cars in any busy parking lot with one.  That's a great thing for that small business!

People are happy with them also.  You NEVER see a used one for sale.
