I have ridden the BYT twice and I have a question. After you cross back over from the treatment plant side, how do you exit? I see blue double blue and two way traffic signs.

We have to look at doing some work on that blue/double blue. It is causing confusion amongst folks who don't ride there. I've been flagged down on the trail many a time. At two places where the trail crosses itself it is not marked well. It's like the corner of Queens and Queens!!!
Cheesy

While we are on the subject of BYT. I removed two downed trees yesterday. One loaded with poison ivy and I did my best to clean up the trail around it. But I never saw anything posted about the trees being down. There is also one down on the Park Road side. I cleaned it up with my Leatherman and broke the little saw blade in the process. You can now walk your bike through it, just duck your head. If anyone has the time could they go out and clear that tree? It is east of the lower softball fields along the stream.

Thanks Jim I cut the vines with an ax to kill them before I sawed that tree up. Just by messing with that tree I have it on my right leg. I will go out and get the one at PRP Friday. I did post them up about being down as did someone else. As for the signs red arrow blue square bottom right corner main trail / red arrow bottom right top right 2 way or intersection but still main trail. Same with MD and PRP. Sign that says 2 way traffic is so you can go around the middle third again. Any problems take the service road out.

Good job Jim.  Did you get the huge tree across the service road?  As for PRP, we will get it eventually.

If you ride it a couple of times it's not that difficult.  I've ridden BYT less than a dozen times in my life and I don't get lost.  Sometimes it's OK to go off and explore your surroundings!  Thought that was one of the appeals of riding a bike in the woods...Tongue

Everyone gets a little turned around the first few times riding BYT. It's just a bit puzzling to those who are from out of town or riding it for the first time. I almost ran into a guy riding the wrong way who said he'd been going in circles and couldn't find his way out. Throw away all that GPS stuff and start sharpening your sense of direction   Shocked

I didn't know about a tree on the service road. Since I worked the night before I got over to BYT late. Had intended on getting the PRP tree but wanted to get some riding in. Settled for trimming the branches off to make it passable. Killing the ivy vines does no good. The oil is still on the plant. When I was a kid it used to bother me. Guess I played in it enough I built an immunity to it.

Speaking of BYT...Ya'll noticed the FB sections where the trees are dead or really really late with leaves?  Slight downhill from the big intersection with  the little jumps.
