Avid Juicy 3's advice

So I have a old set of avid juicy three's on my rig currently, but the pads are getting quite worn.  I want to bounce some ideas off the forum befor I decide to spend $50 on pads for a brake-set when I could Probably buy a whole new lower-end Hydro brake for that price if I search around enough.

I am a Grad student at NC state so cost is definitely a pretty major factor here almost more than performance.

That being said the brakes are working fine, and I have a bleed kit and have done a set of avid before.  I also found some serfas pads for $20 for the set has anyone else ran these pads with any success?

I was also looking and found that avid is still making replacement parts for the juicys and is still making rebuild kits for the calipers and levers.  I don't think I will need those for a while but having available parts does make a difference for the long term.

So are the Serfas pads worth a hoot, or is there another pad manufacture that isnt $25 a pair that are good? someone point me in the right direction please. I am just trying not to spend so much on something as silly as pads haha

Dang, Heck yeah awesome link thanks for the help, Ordered myself a full set for $12 with free shipping right on! It was really tempting to spend the extra dough for kevlar pads but thankfully fro my bank account there out of stock haha

Bart had some new take - off shimano's really cheap at Queen City Cycles.  I'd call him up and see if he still has some. Brand new brakes and pads on the cheep.

I'll have to look into that too, if not for my bike I'll be able to throw them on the bike I'm building for my girlfriend.

I just got a 4 pack in the mail today.  Of course, buying so many at a good price angered the gods, so I bent a lever over the weekend at FATS.  Maybe a bent lever will survive Dupont this weekend.

How long did they take to ship? I wouldn't sweat a bent lever as long as it didn't bend the push-rod or stress any of the seals in the master cylinder.  I bet you could pop the lever off and gently tweak it back with a little heat.

Took about 6 days, not exactly amazon prime.  The new lever took 2 days from amazon.  I bent back the other one, feels fine.

6 days is sooner than I thought i would be seeing them There default page is set up for the Uk and has prices in Bristish lbs lol. I was expecting they would be at least 2 weeks on a boat with it being free shipping and all. I love me some amazon prime it still doesn't beat walking into a store and them having what you need right then at the right price though. Why doesnt that happen more often haha.
