I have one that hasn't left my arm since Future Wife got it for me several months ago. She and the folks were nervous about my solo road and Pisgah rides.

I have my name, address, blood type, allergies, and emergency contact numbers.

I dont know what good it would do if I really needed it but its better than nothing at all.

At least they'd know where to send the body haha! Cheesy

What if his emergency contact changes their number????   Grin

I thought the same thing.  But it was a situation similar to where someone has a new born who is ugly as all get out.  You're still going to say cute kid even though they'll make an onion cry.

I wear the black fabric/velcro one.  I only wear it when I ride as I don't like wearing stuff like that normally.  I've found it to be plenty comfortable for what it is. I think I've had it for about 4 years now.

I have my allergies, two different emergency contact people with their numbers.
Like others, as soon as I take it off I hook it to either my camelbac or my helmet so I don't leave home for a ride without it.

If nothing else, it gives me piece of mind if I get knocked out on a ride, or again as others have said, it tells the clean up crew who to call to pick up what's left of me.

I wear the simple black elastic one.  That way it never clashes with my Enduro Kits.

Friend of min had his "road id" tattooed just below his left armpit.  He was a BIG tri guy and logged a lot of desolate road miles by foot and wheel.  I asked him why not the typical arm band.  He said he would never lose the ink.

That sounds fine in theory and all, but unless the first aider found a reason to expose the person's skin, they would not see the tattoo.  As the first aider is palpating the injured, they would naturally find the ID on a person's wrist.

I have a yellow and red Road ID wrist band. The plus side is that there is a website AND 800 number that emergency folks can contact for more info. And if that pesky little emergency contact changes their number you can update it with RoadID. I do a lot of things on my own and if anything happens it will at least offer a clue as to who I am. And can quickly provide vital info. The yellow band I wear on my wrist while riding. The red one the velcro has become worn and no longer holds well. So I loop in on my belt while hiking.

I made my own Road ID of sorts. I already had one of those Velcro leg band things and one day I was looking at my dog’s collar and ID tag and thought “hmmm” so I bought the same kind of tag that I had bought for her but put my own info on it and then slipped it on the Velcro band and viola! I also wrote my emergency info on a little piece of paper and carry that in my phone case with my driver license. So someone looking around in my stuff for ID etc. would see that.

I like my road id (rubber strap).  I think some of the others may dirty pretty quick but I could be wrong.  Mine just stays on me when I hit the shower after a ride and it is still clean and purty.

We have the have them.  RoadId also has an app for  your phone that will alert the person you choose if you haven't moved in 5 minutes via text.
