Thanks for everyone's help today. Getting it done finally! Learning as we go. On another note some very very big changes are going to happen over the next year or sooner. So don't be suprised when some trail will be lost to progress and some of it will be closed for quite a while. Thanks again to those of you who came out to push dirt around.

Either way...

That's funny.....

Rode out there today. Jump line is great fun. Rode it repeatedly. I think you can carry a lot more speed out of that berm than we thought ... I overshot the first table a couple times. The rest of the jumps worked nicely with speed  Cheesy I was getting slapped in the head by the vines above the big tabletop.
PS: Pipe Dream gap conquered. \m/

Awesome to hear! Great feedback. I knew that berm would be fast and it will get faster when we rebuild it (smooth the face erosion and build it taller). I was worried about the 1st table being too small but we will work on it to get it right. I think slacking out the take-off and lander and adding more dirt to make it longer. I guess we'll have to bring a ladder out there to clear the trees above the jumps.  Cheesy

Also, to every body: Make sure that if you're session-ing the jump line to WALK AROUND THE TABLES. Please tell people you see out there the same thing. Try to use the uphill return trail to session because with the added speed we don't want anyone injured from collisions or to mess up someone's run, lol. Until I fix the erosion problem of the dirt falling off the conduit walking up and down the tables will destroy them.

THanks!

As far as the tiger pit goes (I'm assuming you mean the large gap near the end of the trail to the left of the small step down type feature), once we get the jump line built and I can take the machine to the other part of BYT I could fill in the gap. However, it will take a HUGE amount of dirt and I'll have to destroy a lot of landscape to scrape it together. My advice, come to the jump line and work on our tables. Once you can feel comfortable in the air over them, you can do the "Holly Gap" as we've named it. It hits very cleanly really.

Thanks for considering this Kronic. You are right, you'd have to create another tiger pit/ scar to fill the current one. I saw another idea this weekend that I will suggest offline.

I'll take you up on the new tables, but not sure I want to build up to a big gap. I'm old and fragile (pronounced "fra-gil-la").

I will just make another sign that says gap/drop off and hang it up under the 2 black diamonds that are already in place. Jim we can't make it all easy.

I was out at BYT this weekend and took some pics and added them to the MTBProject.com website.  I haven't posted them all yet but I added one of the "Cannons" with the new banked lander.  They are so much smoother than before.

I'll be honest I have never hit the cannons. I am not a fan of anything that tall with no landing to speak of...They look good in your pictures will probably give it a shot on my next ride out there

Well I guess I am going to put the big one in now. Chest to head high depends on how long of a 6x6 I can get (15 feet).

I suggest that the new cannon go in someplace else in the Byt, someplace with a more natural transition that will take less dirt to move. For example, after the jump line, after you ride the Tyvola section and you get back into the trail, you've made it past the pipe dream and start riding up the service road: where Burton built the cedar ladder drop into that gully. That would be a good spot to put a cannon. Perhaps the ladder drop could be removed and the cannon set-up there? Or somewhere else that has a good flow and transition. NOT after an uphill or in a flat spot. There are some other good spots; maybe on the small upper left loop with the rest of the skinnies? That side needs some love and revamping.

Also, I rode the whole trail yesterday and hit the jump line as part of the trail. I have to say I'M not happy with the flow of the jump line. The first table needs to be reworked but the second table is OK. There's a subtle something that isn't right about them that I/we will get right. I imagine a recreation of the GYT jumps that we haven't nailed yet.

To quote Rocky: "I'm just sayin..." for the record I'm not proud of how the jumps are now. I'm super happy that we've started the line and that we've gotten so much done in only a few days working time. I'm also very thankful for the turnout on dig days.

We will get it right.

Making it easy isn't my goal Scott, at all. It's likely already signed well enought too. I'm suggesting that this older, "grandfathered" feature represents a potential exposure that should be mitigated. Think of the off ramps that we have on the larger drops - sumpin' like that. (Insert Rocky speak here.)

Let's discuss offline.

Thanks but no thanks. That stuff really won't hold up and I hate the idea of any trash other than carpet being used in the trashy, landfill that the BYT already is. Seriously though thank you for coming up with ideas! Keep them coming!

I estimated that my one year old son has filled up about 2,000 diapers since his birth. If I would have known sooner I could have been saving them for the tiger pit fill in project. At least 1,800 of them were sealed in a 2 foot long diaper genie bags. Those would have been perfect.
