Progressive Park or Section

Wouldn't be great to have a Progressive section on one of our trails or maybe some land? I'm talking about drops, jumps, rollers and berms for ALL riding levels. I think it would really benefit us and even though there are some great features on most of the trails they just don't cater to everyone out here. Think something like the Santos Vortex section in Ocala, FL, it does have some crazy gnarly stuff but it also has progressive parts where you can start from the easiest drop and then move up. Needless to say, I'd be stoked to help something like this become a reality. I think the CLT lacks a park like this.

All I want is more.

Also, having to worry about a turn after landing is sometimes not ideal.

Exactly! Stuff that goes from 2ft to 4, 6, etc.

And Isitwinteryet, I don't think that with two drops on Sherman you'll be "progressing" much! Would be nice to have this type of stuff in just one trail or section.

I have ridden Santos many times.  That largest drop is ~3' tall in that picture  You can send it further down the transition, but the actual drop is not that big.  The smallest one is 12" maybe.  Sherman has one that probably falls right in the middle and the biggest one at Sherman is bigger than that one at Santos.

What makes that work so well is WIDE fall away transition.  You need a lot of space to build those, just look at each picture in either case it is probably 25-30' wide on the approach and landing.

I was actually talking to Lee from the WWC on Saturday about this very thing.  It would be great as you exit the green loop and instead of taking the gravel road back just build those progressive drops on the powerline cut back to the parking lot.

On a side note Lee seems like an good dude and has been putting a ton of work out at the WWC.  He has built some cool stuff out there.  There is even an existing step down jump that is perfect for learning on.

Agreed. Reason why we need an open area for something like this. I'm just thinking about riders who are getting into the sport and riders like us that would appreciate bigger hits (maybe I just miss Santos, lol). WWC is looking great and they do have lots of space!

Agreed, we need some jumps that people can learn on and build confidence on, as well as some larger jumps to step up to.  I am willing to help make it happen  Smiley

We started talking about progressively higher drops and now we are talking jumps?

Have you been to the WWC recently?  There are 2 sets of jumps.
One is on the new(er) jump trail that is located near the top of the Wedge trail.  You can also access it off of the main powerline cut starting at sign #93.  That line is very begginer friendly as there really isn't a penalty for coming up short on any of the jumps.  The first and second step downs are really fun and then it flows into a few (3 I think) smaller tables.
The second is the old DS course near the toilet bowl loop has been some what recently redone.  There are a few doubles there that are a decent size.
