I haven't posted here for awhile, but I'm wondering if I could get a little help. Since I've moved to Texas I've discovered there aren't a lot of great mountain biking places close by that can be used everyday. There are some great places to ride, but most are a couple of hours from where I live. That being said, where I live in Wilson county, there are a couple hundred miles of asphalt. To put in perspective, Mecklenburg county is about 526 sq miles with a population of close to 1,000,000. Wilson county is about 804 sq miles with a population of 45,000. Now, as you can see this is a road bikers dream, but I know nothing about them. I knew I could get some fair and honest opinions about this so I was wondering if someone could let me know if this is a good deal. I want a decent bike but I'm not sure if I want to drop a few thousand on it right now.

We're in Sutherland Springs just off of FM539.

You know what I'm talking about with the roads out here then. One day I could just take 97, the next 87 and then on another day just hit 181. Then if I get really good at it, I'll take 97 to 181 to 1604 and 87 to the house.
