I want to take my daughter to a day of trail riding in the Asheville area.
She is new to the sport. Any recommendations on trails?

Thanks

Bent Creek is nice and close to downtown.  Pretty good for a beginner and it has some decent climbs. Kitsuma would not be to bad either.

Shearing the shaft member after a hard ride is acceptable in my book.

Dupont would be good. Lots of gravel to ride. Some trail is more difficult but overall its smooth and not very technical

When you say shes "new" to the sport...does that mean mountain biking or riding a bicycle. If she can handle charlotte trails fine Dupont is probably ok.

Your best bet is Bent Creek. Specifically the Explorer and Pine tree loops. Mellow grade and not very technical. Its also closer to AVL.

Biltmore has trails that are more like gravel pathways. smooth enough to take a tow behind stroller down.

Dupont is about an hour or more from AVL so not really in AVL proper.

I would second Dupont.  With some planning you can really make it a great experience including exploring waterfalls and some beautiful scenery.

Holy crap.  I would absolutely NOT recommend Kitsuma for someone "new" to the sport...

I vote for Bent Creek. I was out there two weeks ago and loved it so much I rode for 4 hours.

I second the NO vote for Kitsuma for someone new to the sport! Would be unsafe...
